Mr. David Carey - Advisor

Mr. Carey is a 32-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency where he has held several senior positions including that of Executive Director, often referred to as the Chief Operating Officer, or No.3 person in the agency from 1997 to 2001. Before assuming that position, Mr. Carey was Director of the DCI Crime and Narcotics Center, the Director of the Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis, and Deputy Director of the Office of Global Issues.

During his illustrious career, he earned the CIA Director's medal, the DIA Director's medal, CIA's Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal and twice was awarded CIA's Distinguished Intelligence Medal.

Mr. Carey served as Executive Director for Blackbird Technologies, Inc. where he assisted the company with state-of-the-art IT security expertise, business development and strategic planning expertise. Now, David is an independent consultant specializing in intelligence matters. Prior to joining Blackbird Technologies, Mr. Carey was Vice President, Information Assurance for Oracle Corporation.  Mr. Carey is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Delaware.

Mr. Edward Hart - Advisor

Mr. Hart is a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency where he served in a wide variety of increasingly complex and responsible positions, beginning in research and development and culminating as Deputy Director heading one of two NSA mission operations where he developed timely and economical solutions for assured security for all classified information systems of the United States government.  Among his other assignments, he led NSA's technical signals intelligence operations, directed their advanced reconnaissance activities and he served as director of the office of Congressional legislative affairs.

Subsequent to leaving government, Mr. Hart was Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Center for Information Protection at SAIC. He is now founder/president of an information technology consulting activity serving government, high technology startups and Fortune 100 clients.

Mr. Hart has been the recipient of many high level awards and recognitions, among them:  the highest Presidential award conferred on members of the Senior Executive Service, the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, and the NSA's Exceptional Civilian Service Award.

Ms. Renee L. Lorton - Advisor

Ms. Lorton's experience spans over 20 years of senior leadership in enterprise software and technology, including numerous senior management positions with leading Business Intelligence and ERP companies. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Performance Management Solutions at Cognos Inc. Prior to Cognos, Ms. Lorton was Senior Vice President and General Manager at PeopleSoft, where she held responsibility for its Financial Management Solutions and Enterprise Performance Management (BI) divisions.

Previously, Ms. Lorton served as Global CIO at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as Vice President and General Manager at the Business Solutions Division of Best Software. She was CEO and founder of TaxLAB, a start-up that pioneered the automation of PC-based tax applications. Ms. Lorton served on the executive management committee at Cognos, senior management committee of PeopleSoft and the Global Technology committee at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is now the President/founder of White Rock Advisors, providing board-level advisory services to early and mid-stage technology start-ups.

Ms. Lorton has been twice recognized as one of the 'top most influential people in Finance' and is regarded a thought leader and industry spokesperson on corporate compliance and IT governance technology. She holds a Master's degree from Georgetown University, Bachelor's degree from Purdue University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. V. Phillip Lago - Advisor

Mr. Lago’s career spans more than 30 years in the CIA and intelligence community as a senior executive, manager, analyst and operations officer. He is nationally recognized in the fields of emergency preparedness, continuity of operations and continuity of government.

Mr. Lago was appointed by the President in 2005 to serve as the Executive Secretary of the National Security Council. In addition to his responsibility as chief of operations, Mr. Lago led the transformation of the White House Situation Room to a state of the art situational awareness center in support of the President, his top advisors and staff.

In response to the attacks of September 11th, 2001, Mr. Lago was named to the Director of Central Intelligence team (DCI) to relocate and brief the most senior US Government policy makers at an undisclosed location. He later formed the DCI Homeland Security Staff which strengthened DCI support to Homeland Security.

Mr. Lago received both the Director’s Award and the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal from the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI). In his career, he has served as the chief of the Special Operations Division of NIMA and vice chief of NIMA (now NGA) where he provided operational support to the Special Operations Command, the Chairman of the Joint Chief’s targeting unit and the CIA’s directorate of operations.

In addition to his advisory role at Centrifuge, Mr. Lago is the founder and president of Lago & Associates LLC, a Virginia based consulting firm that specializes in the design, development and operation of situational awareness centers and operation centers that gather data to provide actionable intelligence for decision makers.
